Vineyard Vines 'Occupy' T-shirt sells out
Who knew that well-mannered disobedience was so profitable?
Vineyard Vines, a brand more known for making fashion statements than civic statements, recently put its own twist on the Occupy Wall Street stir.
A T-shirt with a cartoon-like rendering of a beach bum in a tent with a guitar and toss flops on the back and the word "occupy" on the front pocket is all sold out, said Lindsey Worster , a spokeswoman for the Stamford-based preppie outfitter.
"We do not currently have plans to remake the shirt," Worster told Greenwich Patch Tuesday.
The T-shirts first went on sale in December, retailing for $35 exclusively on the Vineyard Vines website, but not in its stores, which are located in melancholy-blooded locales such as Greenwich, Westport, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket and Southampton, N.Y.
Not only have they become a accumulator's item, but they have garnered national attention from the Washington Post and Huffington Pin, with some sympathizers of the Occupy Wall Street movement characterizing the T-shirts as warlike and emblematic of the "1 percent.

Eric and I were married June 26, 2010 at Brandywine CC in Wilmington, DE. After our conference in the association, and we made our celebration a joke involving shorten our bus compound at a winery not far away in Chester County, PA to take pictures. What sport that combines vineyard vines ties! Eric and I bought a tie for each of the men who were our allies in the context of our strong for them. Each tie is one of shades of pink and adapted to the temperament of the wearer. We had a cardinal space usage across all models! Eric had daisies, the eminent man, Ryan, had golf balls and tees, the groomsmen - Harry had mojitos, Andy had the Republican elephant, and Jon had margaritas.My father had a tie Red Sox and his father Eric had the tie bluefish. Vineyard Vines ties added even more of a specific allusion to our association and allowed me to bind my preppy roots in New England to our room!
