I am making my son a mummy get-up for Halloween. The only face masked stocking cap that I can find is in black, but I need it to be lighter colored so that it can not be seen through the mummy strips. Can I chlorine it? Or what do you recommend?

You can blanch it but it won't lighten the way you want it to. The bleach will also ruin the cap. Not to mention the spirit that will linger on it.
Why not buy a pair of white knit tights or leg warmers and use those as a substitute for?
