Plaid Bow Tie Help Please? :)?

My semi formal is in two weeks and I covet to look nice haha
I really want to try wearing a bow tie, i thirst to stand out but not too much.
A nice plaid bow tie perhaps even christmas colors since its going to be in december.
First off, what color is your age wearing? Then go from that. I would (kinda) match the color of her dress into the color (or colors) of your bowtie. Recollect: it needs to make sence, not match!
